Well, here we are at the start of a new School Year.
It doesn’t seem like twelve months have passed since the school’s new website first appeared but it has now had its’ first birthday and, judging from your kind comments, most of you have found it interesting, informative and refreshing.
As you can tell from our Home page we’re well on the way to our first 5,000 visits and we hope that you’ll keep coming back.
Like all such ventures there must be some aspects where we could improve and we’d like you to tell us what you think. In other areas, like the Learning Zone for example, the development of ideas and turning them into practice, takes much longer than anticipated - but we are still working on it and hope to have some things to show you soon.
That apart, this coming year looks to be just as interesting and exciting as last year was.
We’ve said ‘Goodbye’ to Mrs Hessey and Mrs Preedy, who have both retired and we wish them all they would wish for themselves.
We’ve a new Year 4 teacher, Miss Laura Seddon, to welcome into our ranks and Mrs Connell, returning after the birth of her son, and Mrs Taylor, coming back to us very soon. We also have to welcome back Mrs Ginns who broke her leg earlier in the year but has now recovered sufficiently to be back in school with us. And then, ……(forgive the dreadful grammar – I was taught that you should never start a sentence with ‘And’)…… we have some new children joining us as well as a new intake of children into Year R.
Some will come, full of beans and very excited at the prospect, especially if they have older siblings who are already here, while others will, perhaps, be a little nervous because it is the first big step forward in their lives.
However they come, confidently or hesitantly, we look forward to welcoming them and doing all we can to assist them as they grow and develop.
We extend the warmest of welcomes to them and their parents. If there is anything at all you need to know please ask the teacher or at the school office.
Lastly, but by no means the least, we welcome back all the children who were in the school at the end of term in July. We hope that you have enjoyed your break and have come back ready for the challenges that the next year will bring. It could be a very exciting year if you let it.
