On Tuesday 13th March, our brilliant netball team participated in a tournament at Russell Howard Park. The team played 4 matches in total, winning 3, and with a draw in the final match. The team have been invited to play in the Final after Easter! They played with true sportsmanship and team work. We were very proud of them all, especially as some of the players have only been in netball club since September. Netball Club runs on a Tuesday after school for KS2 children. We currently have 40 children attending this club.
Mr. Chambers from Planet Education runs our lunchtime sports activities. The activities include football, cricket and multi-skills. Football has been very popular so far this year! It has also been very muddy at times!! These activities are funded by our Sports Grant Funding from the Government.
Mrs. Hicks and a group of keen runners have been out every week, rain or shine, mud or not, building their stamina! They always return from the practice sessions with rosy cheeks and a smile! Keep up the good work everyone! The school was represented by 40 KS2 runners at the recent event at Down Grange—it was a cold but fun afternoon!
Children from Year 5 and Year 6 have taken part in football matches recently. Children from Year 5 played at Kings Furlong Junior School and performed excellently. Despite losing the match, Chalk Ridge played well as a team and scored two goals. Girls from Year 5 and Year 6 took part in the Basingstoke schools girl’s tournament at the Memorial Park. The girls played really well and made the quarter finals in the competition. Congratulations to all who took part!
