Emotional Literacy Support Assistant / HLTA / Learning Support Assistant Level 3 Vacancy

29 Hours and 35 Minutes per week

5 days a week (Monday – Friday) 8.45am to 3.10pm (with 30 minutes lunch break)

Permanent

Term Time only. Including Inset Days.

Grade D (£21,778 - £24,476 F.T.E.)

Salary Pro-Rata: £13,064.64

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated HLTA / Learning Support Assistant Level 3 to join our Team. This role involves providing emotional support for children for part of the week.

 

Our Learning Support Assistants work in close partnership with class teachers to deliver lessons that support all children. The role includes covering classes for periods of the week including PPA and teacher absence, and some involvement in planning, preparation and marking of work.

 

The emotional literacy support role involves supporting children with their emotional needs through ELSA, TALA or EFA as well as other interventions. As part of our Inclusion Team the candidate will support children to develop the social and emotional skills they need. Working in small groups or 1-1 situations you will need to work with colleagues in the wider school along with parents and carers and have a good understanding of safeguarding.

 

The successful candidate will have the following attributes;

 

  • A relevant qualification (and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working as an LSA).
  • Empathic.
  • A can-do attitude with high aspirations for themselves, our children and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of supporting children in KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Experience of supporting children to make good choices.
  • Experience of supporting children with a variety of SEND would be advantageous.
  • Good organisational ability.
  • Ability to encourage and motivate children to do their very best.
  • Be calm, flexible, positive and resilient.
  • Able to work as a member of a team using their initiative.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
