Hello Swallow and Nightingale class!

It has been great to see that you're really beginning to get use to Purple Mash and are enjoying the activities being set: your artwork in particular has been terrific! Some of you rockstars are also doing a terrific job at TimesTables Rockstars and are well on your way for making the May Top Twelve. Keep up the amazing work everyone!

Also, please keep sending your fantastic pictures to us via email of the fun activities you are getting up to at home: some of you have even sent us some great videos!

Below is this week's home learning plan and the resources you will need.

Good Morning Swallow Squad and Nifty Nightingales!

It was so nice to talk to some of the Swallow Squad on the phone last week, I know some of you couldn't answer the phone but I will try and ring you again soon when I am back in school again: but if you want to say hi before then please remember you can always email me at h.wiltshire@chalkridgepri.hants.sch.uk. I know Miss Relf is also looking forward to ringing the Nifty Nightingales soon too but if you want to have a chat with her before, then email l.relf@chalkridgepri.hants.sch.uk. We can't believe how long it has been now since we got to see all your cheeky faces, we are missing you all very much! We miss our early morning banter, your hilarious jokes, your hugs or dabs or high fives and of course we are missing having you in class: we love it when you defeat your challenges and conquer the school values!

While you are at home, make sure you are keeping yourselves safe and happy. This is the perfect time to learn something at home you might not have ever done before... maybe by helping with the cooking or DIY around the house. Try and complete the tasks we set when you can, but at a pace that works for you. So don't panic if this means that sometimes not all the tasks get done.

Have fun trying out our new Purple Mash online learning - enjoy the games and this new way of learning. If you need any help, remember we are just an email message away.

All the best,

Mrs Burns, Miss Relf, Mrs Harradine, Mrs Sard and Mrs Wroe cheeky

Below we have attached your weekly home learning - remember to just try your best and that's all we can ask of you! It is also really important that you keep up your positive mindset: whether that is through some mindfulness colouring, playing games, sport, etc. It is also really important to look after your family too so help around the house when you can to put a smile on a siblings or parents face!

Monday 6th - Friday 17th April 2020

Happy Easter Swallow and Nightingale class: enjoy this time with your family and of course eat a little bit of chocolate!

Back at school, we had started talking about the fact that when you are in Year 6, we will finally get to open the Time Capsule that has been stored within the bench area of the Gibson Room. While you are enjoying your half-term, maybe have a think about what you think we will find and what you might want to add into the capsule that we bury in its place.

Write down your predictions so that we can compare them once the capsule is revealed. If you want to, start to design something to go into our capsule - maybe a piece of artwork, or an imaginative story, or something else of your own creation: be creative and make sure that you write your name and the date on your capsule suggestion. Also, think about how suitable the size of your object is and whether it is suitable to be buried for a long period of time.

Below we have also attached so art and craft ideas that might inspire you over the Easter break.

Have a lovely time and talk to you again soon,

Mrs Burns, Miss Relf, Mrs Harradine, Mrs Sard and Mrs Wroe blush

Monday 30th March - Friday 3rd April 2020

Big hello and how are you to Swallow and Nightingale Class!

We hope your first week of home learning went well but that you have also been enjoying time with your families at home - maybe helping with the cleaning around the house and maybe even cooking something yummy in the kitchen?

We have been busy at school creating some nice surprises for you when you get back - it definitely didn't feel the same without you there and we cannot wait to be back together again! We miss all your fun stories, banter and of course your hard work and perseverance!

Attached below is the plan we have made for your home learning this week. We know this might be a little harder now that it isn't already printed for you on paper - don't panic and remember that we only ask that you try your best! Also remember our TTRS challenge we set for you: keep up the hard work and be in a chance to receive a prize when we are all back together at school!

Keep safe and all the best!

Good Morning Swallow and Nightingale Class!

We hope you are well and are staying safe at home. Remember to look after the adults at home too and make sure you help them out around the house!

Today is our weekly spelling day so it is time to test yourselves on your weekly spellings - you might need someone to help you with this.

Below we have attached your new spellings - be creative in how you practise your spellings. Remember methods such as:

  • rainbow writing,
  • pyramid writing,
  • look, say, cover, write, check,
  • silly sentences,
  • practising spellings with your finger in sand, shaving cream or something else creative!

Keep up your home learning, enjoy this time with your family and hopefully we will see each other soon!

All the best,

Mrs Burns, Miss Relf, Mrs Harradine, Mrs Sard and Mrs Wroe smiley

Monday 23rd March - Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning Swallow and Nightingale class, we hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Attached below is a copy of the weekly plan we sent out with your Learning Bundle last week. Please make sure you don't do the work all in one go, follow the plan so that you only have to do a little bit of each subject every day. Remember we have also included a mindfulness for you each day because we know how much you enjoy them!

Also, please remember to keep up your TimesTables Rockstars - we will keep an eye on your status from here and hopefully you will beat our scores when you get back to school! There might even be a yummy prize for the person from each class who shows the most perseverance!

We will write to you again soon,

Stay safe!

Mrs Burns, Miss Relf, Mrs Harradine, Mrs Sard and Mrs Wroe smiley
